Printingon paper began by the 9th century, and the first fully printed book, includingthat date, was the 868 Diamond Sutra (British Library).  By the 10th century, 400,000 copies of severalscriptures and photographs were printed, and Confucian classics were printed. Experienced printers can print up to2,000 spreads per day.  

Printingbecame popular in South Korea and Japan early on, where Chinese logograms werealso used, but this technique was also used in Torfan and Vietnam along withvarious other scripts.
